bOne Chair
Fun for creative people...!
A chair with a playful air for people with a sense of
humor.
Its
support structure mimics our bone structure, its upholstery our skin cells, and
just like these cells the seat, too, conforms – like the rhythm of inhaling and
exhaling – to the individual’s unique ergonomics.
Its look is multiplicitous, variable and surprising.
Everything’s
in play: the upholstery can be changed to whatever color you want, the makeup
of the upholstery cells comes in various materials, the frame can be metal or
wood, its structural transparency makes it airy and light and its upholstery
has a cushy, sensual feel to it.
bOne is a product with many variables.
But it’s
main structure is uncompromisingly made from one piece of metal or wood without
any fasteners.
Its design uniquely combines stability, flexibility and
ergonomics.
bOne
responds to its visitor by having its tactile presence react to the body
language of its user.
While
designing this product, we took into account trends, people’s volatile relationships
to their environment, changes and the impact people have on their environment.
The
interactive deployment or use of bOne incorporates the notion of creating a
means to counter an industrial product’s temporally limited life expectancy – beyond
its introduction into the market and past the decline or saturation of the
market.
Through
its “adaptable, playful, new” flexibility, the functional-aesthetic aspects of
the product can be replenished with new content to accommodate a person’s
changing lifestyle.
As for
its emotional and aesthetic aspects, what utterly convincted us was the number
of options available to use for the material of the cylindrical surfaces – from
covering the foam with the simplest to the most costly, handmade materials.
The
puffy nature of the cylindrical foam made it possible for us to stay true to
our maxime and not use any fasteners.
It
breathes, conforms to you, can change its look and is very human – that’s how
bOne was born.
There are no limits to the emotional expressions this
product is capable of.
