  • Alberta WoodWorks! was looking to redesign their annual award for excellence in architectural, engineering & interior uses for wood. This was to recognize the expansion of their annual awards to include all prairie provinces. The previous award was hand-carved, styled to symbolize the sprouting of a pine comb. Because the recipients of the award would be from a technical background, I decided that the award should be manufactured using highly technical methods. This required detailed robotic operation, resulting in a balanced structural form that pays homage to the former ‘pine comb aesthetic’.
