The Ladybird is a bath that doubles as a sink, which eliminates the need for a large bathroom. The bath itself is actually Japanese in style, similar to the ‘Ofuro’ tubs, in the sense that you sit in it rather than lie, and requires much less water to fill than ordinary western style bathtubs, which ironically, in such a water conscious world are getting larger.
Inspired to design the Ladybird after living and studying in Milan in a very confined apartment with four other people. I became very aware of the confines of big city living, which we take for granted in Australia. The bathroom which we shared was much too small to accommodate both a shower and a bath and I often missed the luxury of having a choice.
