Team Lotus F1 - 2011 Livery

Aryton Senna's 1986 Lotus 98T is probably one of the most iconic Formula One cars ever created. It was the last in a long line of cars in the beautiful John Player Special colours consisting of black and gold.
This design concept re-interpreted these colours for Team Lotus for F1 season 2011.
The livery celebrates the pure beauty of F1 cars instead of presenting a moving billboard cluttered with brands and bright logos. Therefore all logos are tonal in nature while the main design element is the golden form stripe.

This design also improves the all-important performance. Black carbon fibre is left unpainted to reduce weight. The top surfaces are coated with a matt finish to improve laminar flow reducing turbulence and
increasing aerodynamic efficiency.
It is a premium and thoughtful revival of a classic. One that makes all other F1 liveries look cheap and overbearing.
