- Sculpture-building Wax Lamps.
The Speliothem Lamp is a sculptural lighting piece in which the heat output of a halogen bulb is harnessed to grow towers of wax, creating a beautiful and mesmerising experience.
The driving aim of this project was to create a piece that would send a message concerning the potential of converting ‘waste outputs’,into constructive outputs. I wanted to create an object of wonder, one which would change the way its user perceives waste, a piece that would encourage viewers to think proactively, rather than negatively, about the secondary outputs of electrical devices in their homes.
