FarmSense was developed at Georgia Tech's Public Design Workshop course as a design solution for small-scale farmers using robotics or sensing technologies. The process involved brainstorming, research, and a day-long field trip to a local permaculture farm. The class divided into two teams, each tackling problems of water and resource conservation.
Our team of five proposed a modular sensor network that uses a camera and interchangeable sensors in order to monitor various aspects of soil quality, such as moisture or nutrient levels. I was responsible for designing the sensor stick and creating graphics for our final presentation.
