Polycarbonate Stick Light

The Polycarb Stick Light is a T5 fluorescent light fixture consisting primarily of an illuminated tube that penetrates a ceiling cavity at an angle. The light fitting is installed into a trimless housing that is permanently plastered into the ceiling cavity.

The ultra simple aesthetic of the product belies its technical requirements. The design required the
semi remote control gear housing to be able to fit though the narrow ceiling aperture of the trimless
housing. The PSL required UL/ETL certification for use in the American market so everything above ceiling level required shrouding or containment in a metal housing. All plastics used in the product required high
flammability and UV resistance ratings. For example the main tube was extruded specifically for the product in California in a specific Lexan material with a VO rating and in a custom opal colour.
