    Recycling Reusing Rethinking
  • The aim of this college project was to reuse an old used material that was offered to my class so we could create a piece of furniture that would be able keep other belongings inside. The material was a MDF and cork sandwich.

Being a material that could not be bended, I approached it in a different perspective so I could make double curve shapes with it. By cutting the sandwiches in curved shapes and stack them in parallel using 4 big screw bars, bolts and stoppers I was able to create the fluid curves I was looking for. The object I came up with was a stool to lay down your legs and relax that has a compartment to keep a blanket or magazines. This stool can also be used as a normal stool.
