Description
LON-1

Fjord Hopper

Project 2010

LON-1 is conceived as a houseboat for calm waters.
It has a floating device with two living units, one of which can be hydraulically lowered to sea level.

In the middle, LON-1 has a protected docking place for a pleasure boat.
It has a strut protruding to the right and the left to ensure stability.

LON-1 is prefabricated, and can be disassembled to 4 basic elements for transportation by truck.

Living unit 1 has about 110 square metres of usable floor space, and a whirlpool; apartment 2 is about 30 square metres in size.

Propulsion is provided by a hybrid drive unit (diesel-electric).
Electrical energy is gained from bio-fuel cells and stored in a high-performance battery; discharge can be slowed by means of solar panels on the roof.

The bio-fuel cells combine desalination with power production.
An osmosis unit can be utilised to treat salt-free seawater for use as drinking water.

LON-1 is equipped with marine radio, radar and satellite communication.
