Most of the existing kitchen appliances are usually hidden in the drawers after being used, whilst this hairdryer is designed to stay in a visible spot even when it’s not. The idea was that(besides it’s main purpose) it functions as a sculpture. Inspiration for it’s shape came from a whiteflower called calla.
Emphasis is also put on apart which is usually disregarded during the design process; the electrical plug. It’s torsion and curves match the shape of the main body and ensure more ergonomic handgrip.
The project was awarded with a special acknowledgement for product / industrial design at Croatian Design Exhibition 07/08.
designed: 2006.
