FlatFish 1.1 Convertible Chair

Like its namesake, FlatFish 1.1 has adapted to meet the challenges of modern living. Created to meet the needs of an increasing number of people living in small spaces the FlatFish 1.1 is a multi-use piece of convertible furniture that works equally well as a dining chair, side table, small coffee table or bench. Typically used in the table or bench configuration the FlatFish1.1 cleverly camouflages a dining chair lying in wait for that moment when an extra chair is needed, say for that next dinner party.

The seat and chair back/tabletop of the FlatFish 1.1 are hand crafted from molded plywood and can be custom finished in a variety of veneers and high gloss colours. The legs are waterjet cut from ¼ plate steel and are available in a variety of plated or powder coat finishes.

The waterjet cutting process also allows us to optimize the use of material, thus minimizing waste. Any scrap material from the cutting process is used to create additional products, in this case necklace pendants.We call these pieces Rem[a]inders. For us these remainders remind us to take responsibility for the allocation of our precious resources.
