Depth finders use sonar to help boats navigate through waters of uncertain depths. HumminBird in particular, designs depth finders targeted to fisherman to help the not only locate certain depths of water, but also locate fish. However, all of the current depth finders on the market must be mounted onto the dash of a boat by drilling and screwing them into place. Some boats can not even accommodate the room needed for these devices. This new design incorporates the depth finder into an aftermarket HumminBird steering wheel to allow any boat with an existing wheel to have a depth finder. The display of the unit utilized touch screen technology and stays level as the wheel is turning. It also easily detaches from the steering wheel when not in use.
