Eco Dual - Washer machine

EcoDual was developed through the observation of human behavior based on human centered design. Washer machine is the second home appliances in water consumption (190 liters per cycle). So, the main goals was to design a washer for Brastemp (Whirlpool group brand) that reduced water consumption, simplifying the task of washing clothes and bringing innovative solutions to consumers.

Technical information:

- Two separated tanks (6kg and 2 kg) with independent operation. The bigger one is for heavy washing like jeans and quilt. The smaller can be used for delicate washing as underwear and delicate clothes. With this system EcoDual can wash white/colored and heavy/ delicate clothes at the same time, saving time and energy.

- Water recycle system: a tank in the bottom part of the washer will storage and filter used water of the previous cycle, allowing water re-use for a couple times, increasing the water consumption in 50%.

- Deodorisation system - sometimes a piece of clothing is not dirty, is only smelly by cigarette smoke. With Ecodual one can deodorize the bad smell clothe without water, through the ozone technology. This system blows jets of oxygen and ozone in the clothes killing the germs that cause the bad smell. Thus you can take the bad smell out of your favorite shirt, without water!
