Concept Lamborghini Alcaldes Ultimate
Info
Description
The inspiration for LAMBORGHINI ALCALDES CONCEPT proposal consisted in paper folding techniques and its effects: on one hand to gradually transform a two dimensional surface in a three dimensional volume, and on the other hand to assure and increase the stiffness in the directions of the folds. So, it is transformed from the easy deformable flat surface to a stable and stiff volume by making the folds.
The edgy geometric shapes are the main visual characteristics of Alcaldes.
Its geometric forms combine the resistance provided by the sharp edges and the aerodynamics of the curved surfaces; it’s a well known fact that folding/bending surfaces gives the object an extra resistance. This geometric shape gives a futuristic look to the concept and also flexibility and torsion resistance of the body.
The next step of the design deals with the aerodynamic problem of the car: the optimization of surfaces and volume and shaping them for the contact with the air at the designed speed for obtaining a minimal resistance and a good distribution on the surface.
So using the geometrical principles the surfaces of the car have been curved on one or both directions for the optimal distribution of the air impact pressure, obtaining a improved aerodynamic shape of the car.
Lamborghini Alcaldes’s market place is between Murcielago and Gallardo. It measures at length 4350 / height 1150/ 2000 width. The speed limit is 313 km/h.
The name chosen for this concept proposal follows Lamborghini’s tradition in choosing the name of a famous corrida bull.
