Product design course task for Selkaline Oy. We had about 6 weeks to design a barstool for this company. We met the ceo 3 times, initially for the brief, once for midterm feedback, and finally for the presentation of the designs. The #53 was positively reviewed, but not chosen for production.
#53 was viewed as a timeless design, featuring typical Scandinavian minimalism. It uses a simple construction, made from aluminum and wood, thus making the product highly eco-friendly (aluminum being 100% recyclable, and wood being renewable), while also using very little material. Additionally, the seat part and a footrest are made from the same mold. Barstool #53 measures in at 850 mm high with a base radius of 200 mm.
