- Ugo - an aid for children with Cerebral Palsy
Master thesis - Cerebral Palsy is a disease which limits the childs control over his muscles. Therefore they have special needs regarding support and correcting the posture of their body.Ugo gives the child freedom to move around; by facilitating the movements that children with CP are not able to do on their own it also contributes to the childs development as an independent personUgo has an integrated motor to help the child changing heights while seated, from up to a kitchen table to a comfortable walking height and down to the floor, where the child is able to play or exit and enter the chair without assistance. It is operated with a wireless remote control.The saddle seat on the aid gives the child a correct posture and enables the child to walk, even when he/she is not able to keep the balance.Different accessories such as a footrest or tables can be attached to the seat.The project is done in collaboration with a company and in team with one more student.
