Rise Student Desk
Most classrooms across the country are ideally designed to hold between 25-30 students. Unfortunately, because most public schools are so over populated, these same classrooms (especially in urban areas) are stuffed with anywhere between 40-45 students. Because public schools are so underfunded, and the cost of school supplies continue to rise, it has become an everyday situation for students to rush to class to grab one of the few, uncomfortable, poorly maintained seats the school was able to purchase, while the rest are left to either stand up or sit on the floor for the entire class period. The existing student desk is made of about twentydifferent parts. The problem is once any of those parts get damaged, there’s no way to repair them without buying a whole new desk. With the Rise Student Desk, there are only three main parts (seat, structure, and surface) and if any one of those parts get damaged, the school can simply replace that single part, rather then having to order an entire new desk unit. In addition, the desks are stackable for efficient storage. The Rise Student Desk incorporates a storage area within the seamless plastic seat form (that can be color ordered to match school spirit colors), as well as a sliding desktop that glides along the existing rail structure which can adjust six inches forward or back to accommodate students of different sizes. The lightweight steel tubing reduces overall weight, making the desk easier to compose during collaborative projects, or while working in the traditional grid layout.
