Project: BET JumpBox

The Jump Box Initiative is an exploration into a highly flexible form of architecture resulting from increasingly mobile technologies - compact, affordable, sustainable urban environments capable of  rapid shipment, customizability, and technological integration enabled by open source standards and web ordering.

Each student chose a company to "brand" their jumpbox. I chose BET as my brand, somewhat as a joke at first, but it developed quickly into a complex project due to physical restrictions (size and mobility) and cultural recognition.

_concept development

-create a community-based interaction between hip-hop music, and urban culture
-the transportation of that culture, and the interaction between the mobile unit (visual and auditory), and the broadcast of that interaction

_mobility
-acts as a mobile concert venue, with integrated staging and sound-system
-emphasizes the connection between the creation of music and the community
-recordings (video and audio) stored and carried to each location
_state two

-design a space for multiple JumpBoxes to gather
